West High School Homecoming: This Friday, October 9, 2026, your West High School Trojans are set to play the Mexia High School Blackcats for Homecoming at 7:00 PM at Trojan Field. The Homecoming Court will be honored and crowned at halftime. Online tickets are available at this link: https://www.msbtickets.com/westhighschool1/schoolevents. Here are three, additional Homecoming events:
- Community Homecoming Pep Rally: Wednesday, October 7, 2026, 7:00-8:00 PM at Trojan Field
- West High School Homecoming Pep Rally: Friday, October 9, 2026, 12:40-1:15 PM in the West Middle and High School Arena (Guests must go through the Raptor System.)
- West Education Foundation Homecoming Tailgate Party: Friday, October 9, 2026, 5:30-7:00 PM by Rise Up Fitness
- Helping Hands of West Coat Drive: As cooler weather makes its way to Texas, Helping Hands of West wants to make sure all students are warm, cozy, and ready for the season ahead. - October is Principal Appreciation Month: When you see Mrs. Kazda, Mrs. Jones, and/or Mr. Villa around the campuses or town, please thank them for a job well done in leading our campuses. West is BLESSED, because of our awesome principals.
- The district would like to thank everyone who attended "Seussical the Musical", as well as the first annual West Education Foundation Casino Night and Dinner! The Seussical performers and tech crew both did an incredible job. Also, kudos to the West Education Foundation Board for organizing a truly fun event for the community and teacher classroom grants.
- Concession Stand Volunteers: The WABC is looking for volunteer help for the indoor/outdoor Concession Stands. The Booster Hub volunteer sign-up link is located here: https://wabc.boosterhub.com/about/12314.
- Special Called Board Meeting Recap: During the Special Called Board Meeting last Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at 7:00 AM in the West ISD Administration Building, the Board voted to approve the 2026-2027 student Chromebook replacement plan as presented by Mrs. Karels, Director of Technology. This approval plan was for Chromebooks for Grades 2, 3, 5, 6, and 9 at the budgeted amount of $239,177.40.
- October Regular Board Meeting: The October Regular Board of Trustees Meeting is scheduled for this Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 6:00 PM in the West ISD Administration Building Boardroom. This change in date is due to the second Wednesday of the month occurring during the district's Fall Break. - Report Card 1: The last day of Grading Period 1 is this Friday, October 9, 2026. The report card is set to be published and posted in Skyward on Thursday, October 22, 2026. Please remember this grade report is a UIL eligibility check.
- 2026 West ISD Fall Break: The 2026 Fall Break is Monday, October 12, through Friday, October 16, 2026. All students also have off Monday, October 19, 2026 (staff work/conference day).
- STOPit Safety and Bully Reporting System: STOPit is the district's anonymous incident reporting system for students and parents for all safety and bully reporting needs. STOPit has an app feature you can download or the link is saved on your student's Chromebook main login page or the West ISD website (first button on the first row of the page).
- Staff Shoutouts - Thank a Trojan or Lady Trojan: West ISD loves hearing about our amazing employees! From our bus drivers and office staff to principals, custodians, teachers, and more - our Trojan and Lady Trojan Nation consists of the best of the best. - The following positions are currently open for the 2026-2027 school year: Child Nutrition Team, School Bus Aide, Custodian, and Substitute Teacher.
