District Reminders

• Tuesday, September 9, 2025: Reunification Safety Drill for all Campuses, 9:00 AM; Please know all students will board a school bus for this drill. This drill will also include a "lockdown" and "evacuate" drill. 
• Wednesday, September 10, 2025: September Regular Board of Trustees Meeting, 6:00 PM, West ISD Administration Building
• Thursday, September 11, 2025: 9/11 Patriot Day - Wear Red, White, and Blue

  • Friday, September 19, 2025: Last Day of the 6-Week(s) Grading Period; Note: This date is a UIL Grade Check for eligibility purposes. 
  • Monday, September 22, through Friday, September 26, 2025: Homecoming Week
    • Wednesday, September 24, 2025: Community Pep Rally and Bonfire, 7:00 PM, Trojan Field
    • Friday, September 26, 2025: Trojan Football vs. Marlin, 7:00 PM, Trojan Field; The Homecoming Court will be crowned at halftime. The district will also honor Dr. Smith for his 50 years of service to West ISD. 
  • Monday, October 13, through Friday, October 17, 2025: Fall Break

• State Fair: Student State Fair of Texas tickets are coming home this week.
• New Websites: The district's new ParentSquare-based websites are now live, but still need to be updated in several areas. Please be patient with us as we make this transition. 
• New Tax Rate and Budget: During the August Special Called Board Meeting, the West ISD Board of Trustees approved the 2025-2026 Tax Rate of $0.8475 per $100 valuation along with Maintenance and Operations Expenses of $17,833,715.00. This new tax rate is the lowest for West ISD in 33 years and one of the lowest in central Texas. 
• Junior Historians: Practice kicks-off this week on Wednesday at 8:00 PM at West High School. Hope your high school student will sign-up!
• Required Consent Forms: The 89th Legislative session brought with it several new student consent form legal requirements for the district. The district is now required to have all parents/guardians approve their students for counseling, health (nursing) services, and extracurricular activity participation. Both the counseling and health services forms have been sent out via ParentSquare. Next up, you will see the extracurricular activity form.
