Campus Instructional Leadership Teams (CILT)

West ISD campuses are proud to announce the inaugural class of Campus Instructional Leadership Teams. These educators volunteered to serve on their campuses and with the District to lead a transformation of our teaching and learning program. After courageously working through an application and interviews by administrators, these teacher-leaders were selected by their principals using data harvested during that process. Those selected can expect a brief information session at each of your campuses toward the end of the week. A thanks goes out to all of the wonderful applicants for CILT. You are truly leaders on your campus.

The West ISD Campus Instructional Leadership Teams - Class of 2009-2010:

WISDAC
The West Independent School District Advisory Council (WISDAC) involves the professional staff of the district, parents, and community members in establishing and reviewing the district's and campuses' educational plans, goals, performance objectives, and major classroom instructional programs. The ultimate purpose of all planning and decision making in schools is to attain the state's educational goals of equity and excellence in achievement for all students.

The district level committee is responsible for providing assistance to the district superintendent in the development, evaluation, and annual revision of a district improvement plan. The purpose of the district improvement plan is to guide district and campus staff in the improvement of student performance for all student groups in order to attain state standards in respect to the academic excellence indicators adopted under §39.051 of the Texas Education Code.

SHAC
In accordance with Senate Bill 19 and West ISD Policy EHAA the Board shall establish a local health education advisory council to assist the district in ensuring that local community values and health issues are reflected in the District’s health education instruction. To accomplish this, the Board shall appoint members to a council, a majority of which must be parents of students enrolled in the District and who are not employed by the District and may also appoint members from other stakeholder groups.
