District Announces New Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) Designated Teachers

During the April Regular Meeting on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, the district honored 39 West ISD teachers who were recently recognized by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) for 2024-2025 TIA designation. These outstanding teachers are slated to receive portions of just under $500,000 from the state in incentive pay.

TIA helps elevate the education profession by providing an accessible pathway to a higher salary in order to recruit promising new teachers, retain the best teachers, and reward top-performing teachers.

TIA is built to provide lasting funds for outstanding Texas teachers to remain in the classroom and improve student outcomes. Through approved local designation systems, districts can identify and designate outstanding teachers based on student growth and classroom observation. Teachers can earn one of three levels of designation – Recognized, Exemplary, or Master. West ISD is truly blessed with many outstanding teachers. The district greatly appreciates the efforts by the TEA to provide the TIA designations and incentive pay.

For additional information, please contact David Truitt, Superintendent, at (254) 981-2000.
