District Announces New Texas Education Agency FIRST Report Rating

During the December Regular Meeting on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, the district held a Public Hearing on the new Texas Education Agency (TEA) Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST) Report information and rating. West ISD is proud to announce that our Business and Finance Office received a 98 (A) Superior Achievement rating. This state school financial accountability rating system strives to ensure that all Texas public school systems are held accountable for the quality of their financial management practices and maximum budget allocations provided for direct instructional purposes. West ISD is most grateful to JoAnna Macik, Jenny Tacker, and Cindy Webre for all their hard work and sound financial stewardship. This 98 rating is one of the highest ever recorded for West ISD, and an improvement from the 94 (A) achieved two years ago.
